Izmir Holidays by World Travellers

Turkey's Aegean Coast has made a mark on the toursit trail. The biggest crowd puller is it's coastline. Izmir has a sweeping harbour and waterside park built by Gustave Eiffel, the iconic landmark has earned the title 'Guzelyali'-beautiful waterfront. Izmir is well worth a visit now quite a cosmopolitan city it has re invented itself after being burnt down at the end of the war of independence.

Ephesus is a popular tourist destination, one of the best preserved Roman cities it attracts thousands of toursits every year. It is situated next to Kusadasi, a popular beach town destination, once a small fishing village Kusadasi is somewhat unrecognisiable with numerous bars, restaurants and shops. Although now more cosmopolitan it hasnt lost it's authentic charm, with narrow streets and cute picture postcard houses leading down to the Grand Bazaar-defined somehwere between an arabian Souk and a shopping centre filled with traditional food and spices it gives you a great sense of the more traditional way of life.

There is a stark contrast in some respects along the coast where East meets West, if you enjoy the lively more cosmopolitan feel whilst still being able to experience a traditional way of life head to the Agean Coast where you will find it all under the very hot sun!

Getting to the Aegean Coast couldnt be easier with flights into Antalaya, Dalaman and even Izmir itself available from the UK.
